From playing both these games I can say that GT5P offers more of a challenge to its racing as you could probably tell even with TCS-3 it was difficult to apply full throttle to the 599 as the rear wheels would just start to spin and cornering was near impossible if trying to apply full throttle on the exit of the apex, whereas Forza is a friendlier game as even with the ists off it was relatively easy to quickly take the car round the track, full throttle gave no spin to the rear wheels making it easy to thunder down the straights, now Forza 2 has the best engine sounds out of the two as GT5P lacks the depth of the engine sound and just sounds like a tuned up RC car, whereas FM2 is producing sounds close to the real car, but in terms of graphics GT5P has FM2 beaten by a long shot especially as GT5P offers a highly detailed pit view as FM2 does not, but If you are looking for a great racing challenge GT5P is a god game to try, although I would avoid to online as it is very laggy due to the amount of players allowed on track at the same time and are usually from different places around the world lowering the connection strength even further.
FM2 is slightly easier and has a great depth of gameplay leaving hours of re-play value due to all of the events, and the custom paint editor will keep skilled players busy for hours, while these cars can also be sold in the online Auction House which people can sell and buy cars from other players, Forza also has a great connection when playing online as less players are on the track and the game runs alot smoother, FM2’s online features excell where GT5P’s do not, for example GT5P uses a simple server system to host races, these servers have preset cars and track in which the players must use, once in the server and racing you tend to get pushed off the road alot due to the terrible lag and due to the penalty system you can sometimes be penalised for something that wasn’t your fault, there is also a great deal of cheating online as most people cut corners in order to gain positions, while this does give penalties for cutting corners they are not enough to stop a player from wanting to do it, while Forza uses real life players as hosts leaving the cars, tracks, laps etc. completely under the hosts durisdiction so players have a wider online experience as opposed to being locked to a certain car on a certain track.
